Perkembangan peran perempuan dalam sektor profesional membuat pentingnya pemberdayaan perempuan dan kesetaraan gender di lingkungan industri ekonomi, sosial, hingga politik.
Pentingnya pemberdayaan perempuan di Indonesia turut diatur dalam perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pemantauan, dan evaluasi pada seluruh kebijakan program pembangunan nasional di samping meningkatkan kualitas hidup perempuan.
Semenjak Instruksi Presiden (Inpres) No. 9 tahun 2000 sampai dengan Permen PPPA No.13 tahun 2020 tentang Pengarusutamaan Gender (PUG) dalam pembangunan nasional dan panduan pelaksanaannya dalam rangka meningkatkan kedudukan, peran, dan kualitas perempuan dalam mewujudkan kesetaraan dan keadilan gender (KKG).
Lembaga atau organisasi apapun yang dipilih para perempuan dalam mengaplikasikan potensi-potensi diri mempunyai makna yang sesuai dengan peningkatan sumber daya manusia serta partisipasi dalam menciptakan iklim kehidupan yang lebih kondusif.
Penyediaan fasilitas dan pemenuhan hak untuk perempuan memiliki pengaruh penting terhadap produktivitas pekerja perempuan di sektor profesional. Melalui pemenuhan hak dan penyediaan fasilitas, pekerja perempuan tentunya dapat berpartisipasi dengan lebih baik.
Demi mendorong pemberdayaan perempuan di sektor industri, sektor profesional, dan juga di kalangan masyarakat Indonesia, HerStory.co.id ingin memberikan penghargaan lewat “Indonesia Best Workplace for Women Awards 2022: Restoring Equal Opportunities”, kepada perusahaan di Indonesia yang telah berupaya sebaik mungkin dalam penyediaan fasilitas dan pemenuhan hak bagi pekerja perempuan.
“Saat ini, perkembangan ekonomi Indonesia berkembang semakin positif. Pertumbuhan ekonomi ikut mengakselerasi TPAK di ranah kerja, termasuk TPAK perempuan. Hal ini paralel dengan turunnya Tingkat Pengangguran Terbuka (TPT) pada Februari 2022 sebesar 0.43 dibanding Februari 2021, menjadi 5.83%. Namun, peningkatan TPAK ternyata tidak serta merta mengamankan posisi perempuan di ranah kerja,” kata Pemimpin Redaksi HerStory Clara Aprilia Sukandar pada Jumat (30/9/2022).
Clara juga menjelaskan bahwa perempuan di lingkungan kerja sering kali mendapatkan ketidakadilan gender, di antaranya perbedaan upah yang didapat, pelecehan seksual oleh rekan kerja atau atasan, perempuan jarang mendapat promosi jabatan dibandingkan laki-laki, adanya diskriminasi, stereotipe, dan juga rasisme.
“Hal ini tentu menjadi salah satu acuan bagi kami, HerStory untuk memberikan penghargaan kepada perusahaan yang terus berusaha untuk menghargai keberadaan dan posisi perempuan di kantor atau di tempat kerja,” ujar Clara.
Dalam rangka mewujudkan hubungan ketenagakerjaan yang dinamis, kondusif, dan adil, salah satu langkah yang harus ditempuh adalah dengan melakukan pencegahan dan penghapusan segala bentuk diskriminasi di tempat kerja. Kesetaraan di tempat kerja mewakili nilai dan prinsip mendasar yang memungkinkan para pekerja untuk memperoleh bagian yang adil sesuai dengan produktivitas dan prestasi mereka.
Perempuan merupakan sumber daya yang mempunyai peran penting dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan ekonomi. Perempuan saat ini tidak hanya sebagai penonton, tapi turut berperan memajukan perekonomian negara.
“Itu adalah tanggung jawab kita untuk mengapresiasi dan menghormati perempuan yang membuat perubahan ke dunia dan membawa kesuksesan kepada hidup mereka dan hidup orang lain di sekitar mereka,” ungkap Ir. Dinar Titus Jogaswitani, MBA selaku Direktur Hubungan Kerja dan Pengupahan Kementerian Ketenagakerjaan RI.
Oleh karena itu, Ir. Dinar Titus Jogaswitani, MBA selaku Direktur Hubungan Kerja dan Pengupahan Kementerian Ketenagakerjaan RI ikut mendukung HerStory memberikan penghargaan dan apresiasi kepada perusahaan yang mampu menghargai perempuan di tempat kerja.
“Mari kita dukung perusahaan yang telah berkomitmen dalam mendorong dan mendukung kesetaraan gender dan pemberdayaan perempuan untuk masyarakat Indonesia yang lebih inklusif di lingkungan profesional maupun di lingkungan sosial secara umum demi Indonesia yang lebih baik,” tutup Ir.
